  • Geoff Alexander

    A local Santa Barbaran, Geoff Alexander brings over a decade of management level experience in Santa Barbara and California based non-profits to his role as Interim Executive Director of the Dos Pueblos Institute. As Santa Barbara County Film Commissioner, Geoff spent ten years bringing positive economic impact to the county by promoting the area as a production destination and managing the logistical needs of production throughout the County. In this role he also was responsible for stakeholder and neighborhood relations, government relations and permitting, public relations, and executing events. Geoff served in leadership roles as Vice President of the Film Liaisons of California (FLICS), a non-profit comprised of forty two film offices from around the state. He also served as legislative chair of FLICS and worked in partnership with entertainment unions and guilds to successfully pass legislation to encourage and promote film production throughout the state of California spreading significant economic benefit throughout the region. As a result of his ten years as a film location scout, and as a lifelong surfer and sailor, Geoff brings intimate knowledge of the sensitive natural resources in our rural and local coastal areas, including Dos Pueblos Ranch, Naples Reef and the Hollister Ranch. Finally, Geoff has served as a volunteer for local youth oriented non-profits including Santa Barbara County Partners in Education as a career speaker and as a mentor to first time job applicants, and the American Youth Soccer Organization where he has coached boys and girls from ages twelve to eighteen for the past eight years. Geoff’s wife Andrea is an attorney representing children with special needs and they and their two children have spent many wonderful days surfing, sailing and hiking the local coast, mountains, and islands. He is honored and delighted to have the opportunity to help support the creation of programs to transform the Dos Pueblos Ranch to a living hub for coastal access and recreation , regenerative agriculture and environmental justice.
