The Roger and Robin Himovitz Family are pleased to announce the successful acquisition of the historic Rancho Dos Pueblos and the founding of the Dos Pueblos Institute.

A portion of the property will be re-conceived as a community resource with a breadth of programs dedicated to land stewardship, sustainable and regenerative agriculture, education, research and recreation.

“We are incredibly honored to be playing a role in shaping the future of one of the natural and historical treasures of the Gaviota Coast. We look forward to an opportunity to restore historical facilities to their original conditions, and to undertake a number of exciting projects.”

    —Roger Himovitz

The Dos Pueblos Institute, from which all Dos Pueblos Ranch programs will originate, is founded with a mission of creating and fostering public/private and community partnerships to enhance environmentally responsible uses, including but not limited to providing a critical piece for future completion of the California Coastal Trail, environmental justice initiatives, Chumash Tribal access for ceremonial purposes, cultural preservation and education, and the establishment of a retreat center to serve as a living laboratory and thought center for the exploration of these organizing principles.

Geoff Alexander, a local Santa Barbaran, has been selected as the Interim Executive Director of the Dos Pueblos Institute. He will serve as the point of contact for the Institute and will be managing the operations of the institute going forward. Geoff can be reached at GeoffAlexander@dospueblosinstitute.org and more information about the institute is available at www.dospueblosinstitute.org
